The major organizations of English-language schools outside of Britain are COBIS and ECIS. COBIS (Council of British Schools in the European Communities) now covers more than the EU area, while ECIS (European Council of International Schools) is worldwide.
These organizations provide accreditation if the school principal and teachers are qualified and skilled and if the programme is professionally sound. Accreditation by one or more of these bodies provides a form of quality assurance.
Chartwell is a full member of COBIS, www.cobis.org.uk, and looking into becoming a member of ECIS
